The Success of the ASEAN Region in the nineties has been the envy of most of the economic groupings around the world. High economic growth, increased prosperity coupled with the abundance of human and natural resources will see continued growth in this region until the turn of the country.

Brunei although small in terms of size and population has a very important role to play in ASEAN and in particular the recently establish sub-regional growth area, BIMP_EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines - East ASEAN Growth Area).

In view of Brunei strategic location in ASEAN, whereby the country is the hub to all the ASEAN countries, the country can play an important role as communication and transportation hub and at the same time promote and develop other non-oil and gas industries in particular eco-tourism.

Brunei has a very stable political and economical environment with good infrastructure, conducive for foreign investors and in view of this, the Government has always welcomed foreign investors to establish a business partnership in Brunei.
