Inforama showcase: Empowering education through ICT Aug 27, 2007

The 2007 Inforama Showcase on the theme “Empowering Education through ICT” was officially launched yesterday at The Mall, Gadong.
The guest of honour who officiated the event was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Cikgu Hajah Norjum binti Haji Mohd Yusop.
The chairman of the 2007 Inforama Showcase, Haji Sabli bin Haji Mumin, said this year’s theme aims to open up opportunities in the ICT fields to generate products that can benefit the fields of education, teaching and learning, employment, research and many more.
He said that the development in the use of ICT tools has expanded over the years with the increase in the number of people using their laptops in restaurants, cafes and cyber cafes where wi-fi services are available.
This indicates the popularity of using computer tools in the nation, he added.
Certificates were presented to participants of the ICT workshop, winners of the INFORAMA competition Level 4 and companies participating in the Inforama Showcase 2007.
Until Aug 29, It will showcase the products of winners of the Inforama 2007 competition, gives opportunities to display and explain students’ products from the Inforama 2007 competition and exhibits the latest ICT products and materials related to ICT that are available in the market.
The participants are Bridgelink Enterprise, CF King Enterprise, Comsoft System, Bahr Pusat Pendidikan Maklumat, Beseller Sdn Bhd, Concepts Commercial Supplier, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, Netcom Computer House, TTCO, Yappe Enterprise, HAD Technologies, Fosa Sdn Bhd and BIT Computers Sdn Bhd. ~ Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin |
